Ziad Waleed, known as Nubi, is an Egyptian rapper and singer born and raised in Saudi Arabia, with Nubian roots that give him a unique multicultural identity and presence. He began his career at a young age as a freestyle rapper and battle performer on the streets of Cairo. His debut single “MPAPPE” (2019) gained over 300K streams, quickly establishing him as one of Egypt’s hottest new rap stars. In 2021, Nubi released his debut EP “Atr El Noom”, positioning himself as the first true representation of Nubian culture in modern Egyptian hip-hop. The project blended Nubian folk influences, inspired by the legendary Mohamed Mounir, with the new wave of rap, taking listeners on a journey through identity and sound. Currently, Nubi is working on his second concept album, with aspirations to release it this year and to transform his hometown Aswan into a hub for modern arts and music.
